Snitch that!

I’m really inspired. Not really. But I’m going to write a blog post. It’s my duty…to my people. Uh huh.

You may be wondering why the title is “snitch that!” That’s a good question. I don’t know……..um, just kidding, don’t get angry. I’ll tell you.

Okay, so today we were walking past Cheesecake Factory and there’s this amazing brown bread with seeds on it that they give before the meal. SO GOOD!!!!!!! Anyway, I was like “That bread is so amazing. My favorite. I just want to go over there and snitch some.” Of course….my brother automatically starts making fun of me “I’m gonna go snitch some bread. Ha ha ha” and saying that a snitch is someone who tells on someone else. And it is, but it’s also a synonym for pilfering or snatching (I seriously said those exact words) I tell him. He doesn’t believe me and neither does my mom. >:( Anyway, I stuck by my own side, cause I was quite positive I was right, and I am. Not only does it mean that, it’s the very first definition.

snitch- to snatch or steal; pilfer

So hah!

Anyway, that’s probably rather boring to you all……….

um, well, I’ve been reading a lot of Diana Wynne Jones lately. In fact, I’ve been reading a lot lately, but I have a feeling this month is going to be crazy/hectic with homework and I’m already behind. I’m frightened for tomorrow.

But for now…

I shall post this and have a relaxing hour reading.

The Bookshelf

Do you know how badly I need a new bookshelf?

blog1

Answer: This badly.

So yeah, maybe it’s not the most terribly worst it could be, but it’s still pretty bad. And I don’t enjoy stacking my books, it makes them harder to get out for reading.

Anyway, until I can get a new bookshelf (which will be um, hopefully, soon?)

Presently-school is stressing me out, having to savor the good things every day (*cough* reading-which reminds me, I need to pick up those books at the library), and of course remember that it’s only until June 3rd and then, I get out of school. That’s not too long.

The summer is going to be amazing, so full of oppurtunities, and I’m looking forward to it. Venturing into the unknown will be fun. :) It will be a time to do so many of the things that I’ve been waiting patiently to do.

1. Starting my new, secret novel.

2. Going on trips.

3. Sleeping and resting and relaxing and not worrying, but still doing the things I want. I have to stress this because seriously, I don’t like order and having to do things (school work). I don’t know, I just like winging it, and deciding things myself, I guess. :P Like I said before, I like learning, but in my own way.

4. Working on getting things to how I want them right now. Moving forward.

I really hope the summer fulfills my expectations. I know things will work out in time. I just feel like the summer is such a promising time. And I pray that it will be.

Anyway, enough of this gooey-mushy writing. I will go, but first, incase you were wondering: I did decorate my wall with pictures of flowers. Today. It looks much prettier, and brighter in real life, but here’s a picture anyway. There’s some daffodils in there if you look closely.

Brandon Mull signing

Okay, so it was a one hour drive combined with a two hour wait in line, but it was totally worth it!

I was ridiculously hyper while waiting in line, and all the little kids kept giving me weird looks to shut up, but it was cool. My brother and I were the oldest kids there. Everyone else was like eight or younger.

Anyway, after a long wait in line, after which I was definitely tired of standing still (or *cough* trying to), we made it to Brandon.

I go up there and set my purse down on the signing table.

Brandon: Hi!

Me: Hi! Are you aware that Shannon Hale stalks you? (If you don’t get this, click here before continuing.)

Brandon: Yes! Yes I am! How did you know?

Me: I saw the picture on her blog?

Brandon: You read her blog?

Me: Yes! I’m a big fan of Shannon’s. But don’t get jealous!

Brandon: I’m not.

Me: You’re one of my favorite authors too.

Brandon: Did you read the Humpty Dumpty story?

Me: Yes, it was awesome and funny. *pulls out Fahrenheit 451 book*

Brandon: You want me to sign this?

Me: Yes!

Brandon: I’ll just put “this book is cool” and sign it, I don’t want Ray Bradbury to come chase me down.

Me: *laughing* Good idea.

Brandon: *hands me book* Okay, there you go. I don’t think I’ve ever signed this for anyone. Don’t tell too many people, they’ll be jealous.

Me: I won’t. *takes out Fablehaven 4: Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary (which is way awesome, by the way) and The Candy Shop War*

Brandon: *signs them*

Me: *moves to leave*

Brandon: You do want a poster?

Me: Yes! That would be nice.

Brandon: *signs a poster and bookmark*

And then my brother gets his books signed and he asks “When’s Seth going to be the hero?” (which, he’s totally a hero in book four) and I cut in “Seth is the best! He steals all the gold!” Brandon laughs.

So I think I was pretty amusing after all those little kids who didn’t talk much, but maybe that’s just me. My brother said that he should have gone first, because he would have been refreshing before me, but after-he just couldn’t compete. lol.

Well, anyway. Here’s a picture of Brandon and us and also a picture of the poster in my room. :)

HAHAHA! I got you all!

APRIL FOOLS!

This is so better than Shannon’s April fool joke.

Lately, I haven’t really felt like blogging. I think it’s cause I want summer, because then I have a ton of free time.

Now, when I come home I waste my hours of free time until bed doing nothing.

Eating, getting on computer and watching Charlie and Lola (<3) or just doing other random stuff, and then reading sometimes. I had even stopped reading for a while. Where has my creative writing mood gone?

Oh, I know! School kills it.

School is stupid and stressful and sucks all the life out of me. I mean I know that I can do all the stuff and get through it and I know that I have to, but I seriously do wish I had more time to do what I want to. I mean, I just don’t really get how a lot of this stuff is important to me, personally. Ah, well. And school would be way cooler if you could take lots of FUN classes that you could actually APPLY to what you like to do.

Instead, I’m going to be taking more boring classes next year and then like 4 and a half hours of pointless classes that I don’t even have to take, I just take to fill up room. Ugh!

Okay, it is very apparent that I am frustrated.

I know I have to go to school and learn stuff (or am I really learning?) and then I have to do good on my SATs and ACTs and all those other letter tests and then I have to go to college and learn more stuff and get a job. But honestly, sometimes I feel kind of like I learn more from myself, or friends, or reading, or the computer. I honestly don’t learn all that much from school. It’s mostly kind of just a sort of way to keep busy and apply what you already know. But I could do that in a much better way at home.

Yeah….

well my totally confusing, maybe pointless rant is over.

Potatoes.

Apparantly I haven’t posted in while. Who knew? Certainly not I.

Well, guess what? I’m posting now. Breaking the record. Isn’t that nice!

I’m on Spring Break right now. Lindsay’s in Virginia looking at houses the entire week, which means I am doing nothing.

I don’t have any good new books. :( Maybe I’ll reread something. I think I should make a video this week. I’m not going to start writing a new novel, because honestly, I’m not ready for that stress. I already have a bunch of stress.

I’m going to do some homework and um…fill out my newspaper application. I have to do two pieces of sample writing for that. *sigh*

Er, but right now-just listening to some music and writing this.

I had some really nasty Irish Soda Bread. If I was Irish, I would have died. Cause that stuff is just nasty. Potatoes are good though. I’ll probably mention this again if I do a St. Patty’s video, so don’t bring it up if I do. ;)

I am kind of boring. Sorry. Out of practeece I guesses!

OMGSH! It’s starting to look really flowery and green outside. I love you, spring!

My back is starting to hurt. *straightens posture*

I wish I had books and would bring myself to start a new novel, but I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do that, because I know that I’ll be going back to school. *sigh* Sometimes school really gets to me. I’m being sort of depressing right now.

So, maybe I’ll reread something good. Like The Goose Girl! I totally should. But I’m actually kind of in the mood for action. *sigh* Idk, but I bet as soon as I start reading again, I’ll want to write. They kind of come hand in hand.

Okay, so this has to be the most boring, depressing post. But one interesting thing happened. I titled it “potatoes” randomly and then later forgot and I actually brought up potatoes in the post by accident. Just cause I’m totally awesomely awesome and full of awesomeness.

I am writing a new post

…because I have nothing better to do.

I could say I have absolutely no homework. But that would be a lie.

I’m just going to procrastinate til sooner to its’ due date.

And homework isn’t fun. So I’m perfectly honest when I say I have nothing better to do.

So, to the point-

what would you like to talk about?

I am lacking in ideas. I’ll just write the first word that pops into my mind and go from there.

Pumpkin. Well, Cinderella had a pumpkin. It was a quite a traitor. Had to turn back just when she was needing it. Poor girl, she had to walk home. No one likes that. Especially if they lost their shoes. Even if they were uncomfortable glass, they were shoes.

Um, okay. That was *cough* interesting. Not random for me, but interesting. Now, maybe I’ll talk about something that will actually interest my audience. Hopefully.

Soooo….who’s excited for Harry Potter VI (doncha love my roman numerals?)? *raises hand, looking around with expectant grin*

Personally, I like the movies, even though the books aren’t my favorite. Too long…but they do have an exciting plot, which makes for good movies.

Anyone who thinks Ron is hott is sadly mistaken. Just sayin’.

I’m just going to say something quick about my writing life. It’ll be quick. Promise. Pinky promise. Here goes…I am only seven hundred and ninety five words into my draft. *sigh* This editing business is kind of…not as motivating. Pah. And besides, I just feel the school stress. Pressing down on me. Trying to break my back. “Well, thank you, but I’d like to keep my bones intact. ‘kay?”

Anyhoo…hoo…hoo…I need to watch a movie. I really do. Like one of the amazing Disney classics or something. Or maybe a good romance. Princess Bride. Ever After.

Unfortunately, I cannot. All our movies are packed up and beside we don’t have any good romances. Unless you count random science videos of whales mating as good romance. I mean, some people might. You never know. But as for my amazing blog readers…most likely not.

Or so I hope…

happy late valentine’s

It’s late, because I was busy yesterday. Shopping, shopping, shopping and then watching Confessions of a Shopaholic with Lindsay. Haha, wow. That works together. Well, I got two pairs of jeans, which is very happy making. :)

The movie was really good. I loved it. I was probably swooning at the guy the entire time. Okay….I was. No question. In my defense, he was gorgeous! You should check him out! Really.

Afterwards, Barnes & Noble. We got some chocolate bundt cakes. Those are so amazing. They didn’t have them for like two years, and then they suddenly appeared again. It was awesome. Totally awesome. But yes.

Lindsay and I were sitting in the kids section and this lady comes up and says, all meanly, “This section is reserved for kids and families, you need to go find somewhere else to sit.” Ugh! How rude. We weren’t even misbehaving. In fact, we were trying to escape from all the annoying teenagers. Stupid.

Anyhoo, Lindsay gave me a very cool valentine. It’s a picture of Josh with flowers and it says “Be my Valentine.” I was going to make a video and show you guys that and talk about some intense information, but I’ve been sick with terribly terrible allergies all night, and I got like no sleep. So no. I won’t. But the valentine is awesome.

But yes. Hopefully I’ll be feeling up to making a video NEXT weekend. I’m really sorry that I got sick. So sorry. Really.

I’ll end this with a short poem.

HAPPY NATIONAL SNOGGING DAY!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
You’re totally groovy,
and you don’t smell like poo!

<3 you guys!

Today was a completely epic day.

I am such a fool.

I gave my friend a CD for her birthday. I told her it would have this happy French song that she wanted on there, but it was really “Baby Got Back” Mwuhahaha! I am so evil. But yeah, she told her little sister to come in her room and listen to this “cute song.”

Imagine her reaction when it played. “OMG Becky, look at her butt. It is SO big!” *cackles* She thought it was a mistake until she read the title “I <3 Hayley!” But I will give her the right CD. I will.

So what else happened today?

Oh, bus evacuation drill.

Well, the same girl and I were sitting in the very last seat. At first, I wasn’t going to sit by her, “The seat is too small.” But she said, “You’re small.” It was funny hearing it from her, because she’s like more than half a foot shorter than me. But she meant I was skinny. So…

Anyway, the bus driver’s like, “We’re starting the drill. Little girl in the back, please stand up! and the young lady next to her.” Hayley stands. I start laughing. I stand. I try to control myself. It is hard. Hayley (offended)- “He called me a little girl.” *pouts*

Then. “Get off the bus, you’ll be coming out the front.”

I have to lead. I turn around. I search for about a minute. Apparantly there is no doorknob behind me.

Later, I have no clue what I was doing. Maybe I was trying to find Narnia or something, but obviously, the back of the bus is magic free. I have to exit from the front.

My friends make fun of me. Hayley- “You’re such a dork!” Courtney- “I could think of some other words for it, but I won’t, cause Hayley would kill me.” Me- “Guys! Stop!” *laughing* Hayley- “Everyone died because of you!”

Then, I learned we get assigned seats in French. I no longer sit by them. I am sad.

But then, Speech class is funny. We make up a newscast about a giant strawberry banana milkshake that is eating our school. It went crazy, because it is diabetic from its own sugary goodness, and didn’t have its’ insulin for the day. I made up a line-”The milkshake was a mountain of evil.” Pretty amazing. You had to be there.

Also, I threatened Hayley with Ricky the sword, if she so much as thought about getting me a singing telegram. Valentine’s Day…

rambling about writing

So, basically I finished writing my novel. I mean, there’s a few things here and there that I want to change, but still…like, this is a really big achievement. I don’t know what got into me. I just was going crazy with writing. Lol.
But yes. I’ve finished. I think I’ll go over it, editing a bit. Not a completely new draft, but knowing me, I might end up editing full out. We’ll see…I’m crazy…we’ll see.

But, I’m thinking, that no matter what, I will try to get this as close to perfect as can be by summer. That’s a good goal. That’s a lot of time to do that. I mean, I wrote like the entire draft in a month and a half, I think, so…I think I can edit and stuff in four months. Maybe I’ll work on a short story or something too.

And yes, I know, I’m probably boring you with my ramble about writing, but that’s okay.

So, after this, I have a couple of ideas in the making that I think I might start on. Some of them are really cool and original (I think) I have to say. I mean, I’ve thought about doing a fairy tale retelling before, but I’m not sure that’s how I roll. I could try it sometime, but…

anyway, not releasing any of the ideas in the making, but I’m sure that by the time this novel is finished up (for now, at least) I will have an idea ready to start writing. Hm…

that’s sort of frightening.

This novel just feels me. After working on it for a year, no matter how much it changed, it’s just there. And it feels a part of me. Hopefully, I’ll be better about letting go this time. Nanowrimo didn’t turn out so well. Haha.

That novel though, the one I started for my nanowrimo does have something…I might work on that. Or maybe this other wicked cool idea I have or that other idea…I don’t know. I am indecisive even though I don’t have to decide yet. *sigh*

So yes, I will probably be working on editing whenever I have time, but I also think that I need to focus some on school too. And that other project. Hm.

School. What a sad, sad place. I actually didn’t go to school today. But my allergies were crazy, crazy, crazy, so what can I say?

Wow, this may be the longest post, I’ve ever written. I don’t know.

Maybe I should stop.
