Okay, so it was a one hour drive combined with a two hour wait in line, but it was totally worth it!
I was ridiculously hyper while waiting in line, and all the little kids kept giving me weird looks to shut up, but it was cool. My brother and I were the oldest kids there. Everyone else was like eight or younger.
Anyway, after a long wait in line, after which I was definitely tired of standing still (or *cough* trying to), we made it to Brandon.
I go up there and set my purse down on the signing table.
Brandon: Hi!
Me: Hi! Are you aware that Shannon Hale stalks you? (If you don’t get this, click here before continuing.)
Brandon: Yes! Yes I am! How did you know?
Me: I saw the picture on her blog?
Brandon: You read her blog?
Me: Yes! I’m a big fan of Shannon’s. But don’t get jealous!
Brandon: I’m not.
Me: You’re one of my favorite authors too.
Brandon: Did you read the Humpty Dumpty story?
Me: Yes, it was awesome and funny. *pulls out Fahrenheit 451 book*
Brandon: You want me to sign this?
Me: Yes!
Brandon: I’ll just put “this book is cool” and sign it, I don’t want Ray Bradbury to come chase me down.
Me: *laughing* Good idea.
Brandon: *hands me book* Okay, there you go. I don’t think I’ve ever signed this for anyone. Don’t tell too many people, they’ll be jealous.
Me: I won’t. *takes out Fablehaven 4: Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary (which is way awesome, by the way) and The Candy Shop War*
Brandon: *signs them*
Me: *moves to leave*
Brandon: You do want a poster?
Me: Yes! That would be nice.
Brandon: *signs a poster and bookmark*
And then my brother gets his books signed and he asks “When’s Seth going to be the hero?” (which, he’s totally a hero in book four) and I cut in “Seth is the best! He steals all the gold!” Brandon laughs.
So I think I was pretty amusing after all those little kids who didn’t talk much, but maybe that’s just me. My brother said that he should have gone first, because he would have been refreshing before me, but after-he just couldn’t compete. lol.
Well, anyway. Here’s a picture of Brandon and us and also a picture of the poster in my room.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! I love the part when you ask him to sign Fahrenheit 451.
Smooth, Maribeth.
haha, why F21?
No, particular reason. It was just in my purse, because we’re reading it for school.
You are so cool.
I love this post.
Sounds like lots of fun.
I already told you what I thought of this on chat, but I still think you’re awesome!
lol, you have an award at my blog.
